During a speech delivered to a South Korean crowd yesterday, Trump spoke on the possibility of making a deal with North Korea to put an end to the potentially-nuclear back-and-forth between the rogue nation and the United States. Trump said, “I really believe that it makes senses for North Korea to come to the table and to make a deal that’s good for the people of North Korea and the people of the world.”
Now, only a day later, Trump has changed his tune during his address at South Korea’s National Assembly that took place in Seoul. During the speech, Trump directed his thoughts to Kim Jong Un, saying “The weapons you are acquiring are not making you safer, they are putting your regime in grave danger. Every step you take down this dark path increases the peril you face.” His thoughts did not end there, as he let off an insult towards Jong Un by saying “North Korea is not the paradise your grandfather envisioned. It is a hell that no person deserves.”
Trump’s words did not end there, as he took to his favorite platform—Twitter, to further express himself. The POTUS posted a video along with the tweet “NoKo has interpreted America’s past restraint as weakness. This would be a fatal miscalculation. Do not underestimate us. AND DO NOT TRY US.” Trump’s time in South Korea has received mixed reviews from local citizens, as more Trump supporters showed up to see him as opposed to protesters.
