A lingerie-themed house party in Cartersville, Georgia saw more than 60 people arrested after authorities responded to a report of possible gunfire. When officers arrived on the scene at approximately 2:18 a.m. on New Year’s Eve, they saw a semiautomatic handgun and roughly an ounce of marijuana in ‘plain sight.’ Police say when no one claimed responsibility for the paraphernalia and the firearm, they decided to book everyone present. Those arrested ranged in age from 15 to 31 years-old. After getting a search warrant, police found two firearms, marijuana, and cocaine. The party was held at a space rented through Airbnb and advertised beer pong, “strip twister,” and Jell-O shots.
Those arrested claimed that they were mistreated by officers during and the local NAACP has said they will be investigating the Bartow County law enforcement’s response to the matter.
