Article Image: Mike Tyson to Open 40-Acre Weed Ranch in California

On January 1st, marijuana became legal in Californa, and Mike Tyson is about to cash in on it. According to The Blast, the former heavyweight champ broke ground on 40 acres in California City for what will be called the “Tyson Ranch.”

The ranch will be a resort that produces high-quality strains of THC & CBD. It will also use technology to advance research on marijuana’s health benefits. 20 acres of the land will be set aside for cultivation facilities. There will also be a Tyson Cultivation School to teach growers how to perfect their own strains. It seems like there will be no shortage of activities at the Tyson Ranch. It will include an extraction facility, a Hydro-feed plant, and supply store, an edible factory, campgrounds, and cabins for “glamping,” along with an amphitheater.

What might be most interesting about this venture is the company that runs the ranch, Tyson Holistic. Many of the people who work there are veterans. The aim is to take care of those who served in the armed forces. It looks like the Tyson Ranch will do just that– it’s located near Edwards Air Force Base and will create jobs as well as give back to the community. The mayor calls the move a “rebirth” for the city. No word yet on an official date for its opening.

Would you go to the Tyson Ranch?
