The chase began around 10:40 p.m. late Monday night 1-9-17, in the Reseda area. Flores was armed and appeared to fire
at pursuing officers at one point during the erratic and bizarre pursuit. The 405 freeway had to be shut down in both directions at some point to avoid the potential danger of bystanders being struck by stray bullets.
Tulio Flores was finally taken into custody by officers and the SWAT team members who assisted them with the use of a pit maneuver. SWAT then released a police canine to take the suspect down and then the arrest was executed without further incident..
